My View Wednesday

You know it's REALLY spring with the plum tree blooms and the bees start buzzing. This was actually our view Monday afternoon in 20+ degree weather.

My view last Wednesday...

... included these. A member of our care group (who's nuts about Lego) was celebrating an important 4th birthday and it was my turn to bring something sweet to celebrate the milestone. I admit- it's not the best icing job in the world but I think it was still a success.

And my view yesterday? More care group baking! Another fine member of our care group turned 3 this week. As the son of an avid fisherman, I thought fish cupcakes were in order.

The care group that eats dessert together, sticks together. That's just how it works. 

My View Yesterday...

involved grommets and measuring. And more measuring. And then some nervous cutting. It all worked out- I'll show our new bedroom blinds, curtains and pillows soon.

My View Yesterday...

... included rain.

The View Yesterday...

... included my favourite breakfast. Lemon yogurt, blueberries and toasted almonds. There is no better start to the day.

My View Yesterday...

... included jello. We rediscovered jello just before Christmas and love it as a retro and nostalgic treat. 

Yesterday...

... it snowed for most of the afternoon. Jeff got home from work before sunset and we hunkered down with homemade burgers, oven fries, and the original "Herbie the Love Bug" from 1968 while the snow swirled around us out the window. It was a great night.

Tree

This year it's white, cream, green and gold. I chose not to put out most of my other decorations (things in the window, garland etc.) and that makes the tree the focus. The room feels less cluttered and more simple overall... and I think I like it this way.

What we did last night

I forgot a "My view Wednesday" post this week... here's our view instead from last night.

For our date night tomorrow night we're going to get really wild and bring out the grout.

Yesterday...

... I awoke to sunlight streaming into our kitchen. After two weeks of grey rain, it was a most happy sight.

Today...

my view includes what is likely the last of my deck planter blooms.

Yesterday...

my view included roast beef sandwiches shared with Jeff at lunch before a frustrating hour of tile shopping. It was a great sandwich. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the tile shopping.

My view Yesterday...

...included lots of turkey stock. The homemade kind (this recipe, which roasts the turkey bones for an hour before boiling them, makes the most amazing stock).

Yesterday

Carrots, ready to roast for dinner with fresh rosemary, pepper and sea salt. Yum.

Yesterday

Inky purple petunias.

Today

Garden flowers on coffee table.

My View Wednesday

I think this is what happens when music-loving engineers work on plumbing too late at night.

Those of you who know Jeff will find this especially amusing in light of his deep loathing of saxophones.
