"Come Thou Font of Every Blessing" has long been one of my favourite hymns. Written in 1757 by pastor and hymn writer Robert Robinson, the text is remarkably relevant today. While this hymn has been covered a lot in recent years (by contemporary artists
David Crowder,
Jars of Clay, and
Matthew Smith to name a few), it's no surprise that I prefer more classical versions for choir. One of our favourite arrangements (with a brilliant organ accompaniment that Jeff just adores) is by Leo Nestor.
