Jeff and I both grew up as children of brass playing fathers (Jeff's paternal grandpa was also a brass player). We both became french horn players although Jeff's french horn career was much more successful than mine (and about twenty years longer!). Jeff's hiatus from the french horn is now in its sixth year... I hope sometime he takes it up again because he is a very fine player.
I love Brass music at Christmas, and the German Brass are one of our favourite brass ensembles. I have posted an excerpt from the Bach Christmas Oratorio- if you have 13 minutes and really like brass, I recommend you listen to their medley of Christmas carols as well.
