The Nathaniel Dett Chorale is Canada's first professional choral group dedicated to Afrocentric music- classical, spiritual, folk, jazz and of course, gospel. The Chorale has performed at some pretty big events- concerts honoring Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Muhammad Ali and Oscar Peterson to name a few- and was the only Canadian group invited to perform at the inauguration of Barack Obama. I love them because they are fantastic (as any professional choir might be expected to be) and perform with a lot of soul.
